@Glencoe @simon_brooke can't speak for Bosch, but parts are abundant for my #Bafang, and brushless electric motors are pretty tough. I wouldn't worry about that. You're more likely to break the frame than the motor I reckon.

I converted a #Surly Long Haul Trucker with Cantilever rim brakes, using a #bafang BBS02b

For the purposes of #bicycle touring and commuting. The brakes seem very adequate & I prefer rim brake maintenance & pad replacement for a touring bike.
