This is one small example of why religion and religious texts are garbage. Some people may arrive at misogyny on their own but the Bible instructs them to become misogynist, racist, homophobic, and to attack their neighbors in order to take slaves.

There is no such thing as a good religious person because there is no such thing as a good religion. Religion = Gaslighting.

If religious people only read those books and played checkers with one another, I might agree with you.
However, religious texts are used to indoctrinate people into terrorist acts. They are used to propagate hate, racism, homophobia, misogyny and slavery. So, no, we shouldn't permit religion or religious texts.

Yes, people have a right to believe stupid things that are obvious lies but they shouldn't be permitted to organize and force those lies on everyone else.

Works of fiction that are presented as such are not a problem. A story about a magical talking wooden doll can be used to teach the moral lesson that it isn't good to lie.

The problem with religious texts and religious people is they will tell you Pinocchio is real and if you say otherwise they will fucking murder you.
