Reposting my #introduction so I can pin it - I'm a postdoctoral researcher doing #MicrobialEcology at Bangor University.

I'm interested in the interactions between #plants and their associated #microorganisms, particularly how they affect health outcomes in host plants, and how microbial communities differ on hosts across landscapes. I'm also interested in the question of how to accurately quantify and model microbial communities.

I guess I should do an #introduction -- I'm a computational biologist working at the intersection of bacterial #PathogenGenomics and #FunctionalGenomics, mostly on sequencing-based technologies, and run a research group at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research in Würzburg.

We dabble in #MachineLearning, #BayesianStatistics, and #DataVisualization, figuring out ways to apply these techniques to investigate #Pathogen #GeneRegulation and #Evolution.

I have a variety of #tutorials posted on my website (https://peter-stewart.github.io/posts/) on a variety of topics, including a series on classic ecological #models in #Stan and #RStats, an #occupancy model which handles spatial autocorrelation using a #GaussianProcess, and a variety of useful Windows batch files for dealing with #CameraTrap images.
