9 November 1943: Royal Australian Air Force F/Sgt Thomas Charles Hooper of No. 8 Squadron, RAAF, missing when his Beaufort, A9-247, was shot down during a torpedo attack on Japanese shipping in Simpson Harbour, New Britain.
F/Sgt Hooper has no known grave and is now commemorated on the Rabaul Memorial, Papua New Guinea...
