#GenerationX here.

#StarTrek #TOS was by far the biggest influence because I watched it regularly in syndication through my college years. #M*A*S*H , same. The early (#Belushi) years of #SaturdayNightLive . Warner Bros cartoons.

#Movies were mostly background noise in my childhood, but I have fond memories of seeing #CloseEncounters on the big screen with my (older) parents, and we all liked it. Also, strong memories of #Jaws , which I saw first-run with a bunch of other kids. Both #Spielberg movies!

I also have a very vivid memory of the final moments of Powell and Pressburger's #TheRedShoes playing on our small screen family room TV; I don't even think it was in color. That's how powerful that film is.

I once interviewed Stephen Bishop (who appeared as the dude who gets his guitar smashed by John #Belushi in Animal House and also wrote the theme tune) and he regaled me with tales of working on that movie, The Blues Brothers flick and appearing on #SNL. I told him my fave album of his was Red Cab To Manhattan that I scored in a Woolworth’s bargain bin for 50 cents. I still love that album. #StephenBishop #AnimalHouse
