Another good use for a cross beam laser, this time on a tripod.
Bike is upright leaning on a wall. The horizontal line meets the middle of the head tube, and the vertical line marks the center of the bottom bracket. Measurements can then be done from Head tube to cross (reach) and bb to cross (stack)
Spec for this frame: reach 17.72” and stack 23.78”
Measured: reach 17.56” and stack 24”
Not bad for reading from a hand held tape measure.

After changing the stack height on my new bike , I thought a laser X level might do the trick for getting the bars back perpendicular to the wheel.
Aligning the wheel beam to the center of the tread AND the cap nut, then checking the cross beam to the bars, it’s easy to see that the bars are slightly off to the left.
Brake pads replaced. New Feedback Sports work stand made this job a cakewalk.
Finally received all the necessary bits for a drivetrain transplant. Santa Cruz Superlight 3x10 transforms to 1x12 and joins the modern world. #MountainBikes #BikeTooter #cycling #BicycleRepairMan
