The 60th anniversary celebrations for #DoctorWho have begun on a high note. The first part of this epic monthly series from #BigFinish begins the story of the mysterious degeneration of the Doctor. Dying in battle during the time war, he regresses to past lives. Taking the form of 4th Doctor Tom Baker he attempts to work out what is going on and is reunited with Sarah Jane Smith before meeting the modern UNIT team. An awesome start!

I deliberately kept back the last story in #BigFinish ‘s Ninth Doctor set ‘Into the Stars’ for a Christmas time listen and I’m glad that I did. Thoroughly enjoyed ‘Break the Ice’ by Tim Foley and hearing the Doctor take on Jack Frost! Another fantastic performance from Christopher Ecclestone!

Another story from #bigfinish in their #doctorwho spin off range of #Gallifrey.

This isn't a series I've always enjoyed up to now. Some of season 2 was hard work, and I was glad it was all wrapped up at the end of the last set.

That said this set of stories are a "What if?" or Gallifrey unbound collection and are very enjoyable.

I no idea how this series will continue, and how or ever it will return to the original timeline. But I'm quite eager to listen to the next set to find out!

I've recently finished Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures: Kaleidoscope from #bigfinish

What a fantastic story. it is amazing that everyone is a "recast" in this, but if feels and sounds like a story straight from the 70's.

I cannot recommend this story highly enough. It is just excellent fun, well written, and very well acted.

The Adventures of Martha and Mickey Smith also felt like a setup at the time, but I think that was just a throwaway thing.

Up next is The Year of Martha Jones, which takes place when The Master ruled the world in The Year That Never Was, which also fits in quite nicely since we were not shown that much, but knew Martha did a bunch of stuff.

Feels like a delayed Cinematic Universe of the RTD era right now.

I wasn't paying much attention to where this fit, being used to going 'sure it fits in in those 5 minutes between episode where they went to change coats, why not', but this actually slots in so well it almost feels like it was set up at the time.

Saw an article saying David Tennant and Catherine Tate return to Doctor Who and it was about them being in the 60th anniversary to some extent.

And it's cool, but at this point I'm still more interested in them doing another series for Big Finish. #DoctorWho #BigFinish
