Talking to a colleague at about 5 pm today in the kitchen on our floor. She was eating a late lunch over the sink. “Lupper”. She hadn’t ever heard that word before, and we laughed and laughed. And then we went right back to work.

@jcrabapple That the ultra-rich are less intelligent than those they pay is obvious. Slimy and do all their thinking for them.

@iain @revolt3d Not even going to try to defend the distrust in Lawyers. Honestly, in my experience, it's deserved. is basically lapdogs for sociopaths. Not as bad among smaller firms. But even then, I've often said there are two types of lawyers:
"Those who become lawyers to make money. And, those who become lawyers to help people. Make sure you know the difference."
See one sporting an "Esq." you can pretty much guarantee practicing law is about "them," not you. Avoid them.

But to answer your question, and to be fair, the "big tent" would have to include both sides. And if it does, that good, so long as they agree to the rules, and the rules are a fair representation of what it means to do good journalism.

It's the billionaires owning them that's the problem. Thus, all we get is billionaire friendly propaganda. There are plenty on the right too who have a problem with the concentrated wealth in this country. Indeed, liberals are worse in many cases than conservatives.

@NationalWorld The thing is: there are precisely zero ppl lobbying for this , while there are hundreds of partners lobbying for this lower rate or that way of calculating depreciation or EV credits.

As a survivor, I understand the myths and mystique built up around "hardcore" working.

They're all bullshit. 🧵
