European politicians are nervous about where TikTok’s data goes. The company is spending big on local data centers, but analysts say it’s not enough.

Microsoft has two services concerned too: LinkedIn and Windows PC OS. ByteDance is concerned only so far as its application TikTok.

The EU Digital Services Act officially came into force on Friday.
People in the European Union's 27 member states can now alter some of what shows up when they search, scroll, and share on the biggest social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook and other tech giants like Google and Amazon.
