Such a beautiful morning. I left home in the dark to get the early #train but found my tyre was flat so had to fix it and get the later one. That meant being treated to stunning frosty views, golden sunshine and the pale #SnowMoon. The air was so fresh this morning, so glad I’m #NotDrivingMyCar.

I’m going to #London today and need to take a pull-up banner. The ‘air pannier’ strap thing I got for Christmas is perfect for carrying it on the folding #ebike. It’s also another day of #NotDrivingMyCar and avoiding an unnecessary drive to the station.

I live in a hilly area, so in the past I’ve often driven a little way to get to flatter roads. Always seems a shame to drive the car to go for a #bike ride, so today I took the #train instead. Beautiful day, clear blue skies, lovely.

Well, my streak of #NotDrivingMyCar had to end at some point. Had a lovely day with family but travelling with public transport wasn’t possible. Still, I’m very pleased to have gone 37 days and avoided driving 792 miles.
It wasn’t about never driving again, it was about using the car as little as possible.
So I’m going to continue in the same way, but should I start a new streak? I reckon I can beat that first one.

I think it’s now day 35 of #NotDrivingMyCar. No need to go out much at the moment but I did ride to the shops yesterday which takes the streak to 788 miles.
The streak is going to end on Boxing Day when we have to use the car to visit family. Feels a shame, but I guess I’ll just have to start another one!

I’m riding the single-speed bike while the roads are salty. I love its simplicity. I run it with a low gear to make the hills manageable, which means a slow and steady pace on the flat. Perfect for making me slow down and be present.
