Heute wollte ich auf die andere Seite, daher ging es über #Langenrain um den#Mindelsee herum und dann nach #Randolfzell runter. Die Etappe bis Radolfzell war wirklich sehr schön mit ein paar ordentlichen Schotter Einlagen dabei :)
Danach ging es weiter auf und um die Insel Reichenau. Der Weg dahin war leider eher langweilig aber auf einer Insel war ich mit dem #Fahrrad davor auch noch nicht. Dort hatte es mir dann aber auch zu viele Touristen. #biketooter #Bodensee #cycling #radfahren #gravel

@KFuentesGeorge Yeah, I should have provided more detail. My environs are pretty flat, not really hilly at all. The one route that will be uphill the whole way will be to where my girlfriend is in assisted living, but it's not much of a grade except for the very last bit. (and then it's downhill all the way back!)

And really, all of my trips are going to be quite short. So I'm really leaning very very strongly to analog.

Thoughts on bike lanes painted on sidewalks? This is in #Atlanta where a street with a nice bike lane is offset and needs to travel against traffic for one block. 5th and West Peachtree if you want to see on Google maps. I think it's better than nothing, but I have seen some awkward conflicts between bikes and pedestrians here. #BikeTooter

What *is* the official policy on bike lanes? Are they supposed to be primarily for moving cycle traffic, or are they delivery lanes that cyclists are welcome to use when deliveries aren't happening? This happens so frequently I'm honestly confused by this point.

Okay, having found an apartment (yay! whew!!!), I'm going to want an errand/commute bike, since most of my shopping/errands etc will be in easy range. Need to start thinking about ebike vs analog though. Inclined to stick with analog. Will start trying some out over next month or so.

(Maybe both? But not sure my budget will allow that. Maybe I sell my fancy road bike? 🤔)

Yesterday, on a mixed-terrain bicycle ride in the East SF Bay Area hills, I saw a juvenile wild pig, (first live siting, for me) two big groups of turkeys, two coyotes, and got stung by a wasp on the top of my head, inside my helmet, while riding down Soaring Hawk, a steep, rough trail. (#AnthonyChabot and #Redwood regional #parks)

I visited the massive land slide on Redwood Road, was handed a beer by a guy walking out of the woods, and determined that I'm not ready for the #AdventureRevival Spicy route that I'm riding next Saturday. And I had my first King ti bottle cage failure.
