I’m a #transdisciplinary human ecologist. Background in #ecologicalagriculture and #biologicalanthropology.
I work in the stable of #sustainabilitysciences. The purpose of my #humanevolution research is to help solve social and ecological crises.
Inspired by materialist #ecofeminist lenses. Currently exploring #humanselfdomestication as a social evolutionary process that moderated #maleviolence and dominance competition, allowing increased social #cooperation and complexity.

Refreshing my #humanevolution and #biologicalanthropology knowledge and I found this quote I like enough to share with my fellow #primates: "With chimpanzees, this social grooming takes up more than 16 percent of their time. Aiello and Dunbar established a mathematical law from the behavioural data of contemporary primates and applied it to hominins. They came to the conclusion that Australopithecus spent 20 percent of its time on social grooming; this time then increased to 45 percent for Homo neantherthalensis and Homo sapiens. However, we no longer spend half of our time delousing each other in order to maintain social stability [...]". (from Silvana Condemi and François Savatier, A Pocket History of Human Evolution)
