The current state of #Birdsite reminds of #livejournal before the end. A series of bad business decisions leading to account after account going dark, connections scattering to different platforms, many never to be heard from again, or just going dormant as people find something else as a focus, leaving behind a weird sense of hollow loss. I still have my old lj account and occasionally post to it, but nobody ever comments any more. That is where #MadLonnie is taking the old service now.

Occasionally logging into the former #Birdsite and noticing the endless stream of people being angry at something or the constant outrage about everything without anyone, someone, trying to temper things down.

I had an active account for 13 years, and I can't remember when #twitter went from an incredibly useful, positive and newsworthy social network to a cesspool of hate.

It was supposed to be the definitive communication platform, connected to everything - it was it's value.

OH: "Musk reads your DMs...even the drafts and deleted ones."

Heads-up (in case anyone cares): I've deactivated my account (fluentTypo) on the bird site.

I no longer feel it is a suitable platform for professional activities.

Assume that future posts to that account are not from me.

Currently updating references to that account; however, some changes may take longer to appear than others.

It's too bad it's come to this. Given today's social climate, we should fix that. Unsure how.
