Bei unseren Projekten verfahren wir mit TT3 ähnlich. Gerade entwickeln wir eine Website mit TT3, bei dem wir allerdings auch noch GenerateBlocks verwenden. Das kostenfreie Plugin bietet noch 6 weitere Blöcke an, die als zusätzliche Option bei Bedarf interessant sind.

Just learned you can use `theme.json` to add custom CSS to individual blocks, and even use the `&` selector.

I’ve previously written about https://build.boddez.net, where I set up, using as few plugins as possible, an “IndieWeb-compatible” microblog.

Back then, I used WordPress’ own Twenty Twenty-Three. These last few days, though, I’ve been adapting TT3 to reflect my actual site. TL;DR: I created a new, minimalist block theme! It can be found, for now, at https://github.com/janboddez/janboddez.

Footer still has some hardcoded text in it, and the header quite explicitly references a menu on my site.

Think if I replaced those with some starter blocks, this would be a fairly generic block theme.

Even more so if I took out the (IndieBlocks) note archive template.

I could add all modifications in a child theme, then.

Or in the Site Editor directly (that’s what it’s for).

I'm glad we used the Block Editor (Gutenberg) from the beginning. The Block Editor is getting better and better. Creating websites with Block Themes like Twenty Twenty-Three still takes some time to get used to, but it's worth learning.

https://indieblocks.xyz, too, got hit by WordPress 6.2.1 breaking shortcodes in block theme templates. The “fix,” for me, was really easy: convert the offending Shortcode blocks to Template Parts (two clicks, literally). Of course, I use only two instances of the Shortcode block this way; I’d make them into dynamic, “theme” blocks, but really, it’s not worth it.

Ein sehr interessanter Beitrag zu einem neuen Theme von Mike McAlister auf WP Tavern. Das Theme ist noch in der Betaphase, hört sich aber sehr vielversprechend an. Block Themes werden vermutlich auch aufgrund der ungewohnten Bearbeitung noch nicht in dem Maße verwendet wie klassische Themes, obwohl sie wesentlich flexibler sind: "WordPress.org has 286 block themes available and even the best ones have just a few thousand active installs."

I'm mystified by the people still proclaiming their love for #WordPress classic editor. The block editor has come a long way in terms of ease of use, and #blockthemes are shaping up to be very powerful.

As someone developing plugins, I appreciate how much easier and more standard the process is for creating the visual representation of a content block than it was to hack together a visual editor representation for a shortcode.
