What if a very brief phobic stimulus is detected, but its little duration don't elicit the expected fear?
These 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆-𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 stimuli should be preferred to perceptually-subliminal or clearly-visible ones in exposure therapy!

1/3 of our "trilogy" of systematic reviews and meta-analysis on the use of subliminal stimulation in clinical populations: specific phobias!
Take-home messages: 1) positive results about skin conductance share an optimal ratio between stimulus duration and intertrial interval, and 2) combining subliminal + supraliminal exposure to phobic stimuli could maximize habituation!

First time on Mastodon, I will use it to discover new researches and to spread those published by me and/or my collaborators at #BodhyLab 💪
Will try to toot on a daily basis for followers to know what I'm working on, in case someone wants to give an opinion at any level: feel free to contact me!
