@qwxlea @omnivore i am pretty into #readwise but i didn't look closely at #omnivore. i made an #ObsidianMD vault that is purely ReadWise Reader sync, Apple Books and some extracted annotations from my #boox (really wish that wasn't so tedious it's a manual lift export from menus in individual books 😩)

@drdextrose you know, #bulletJournaling has some similarities to #zettelkasten. at auth0 there were a lot of #bujo fans, i always have a paper notebook nearby for a lot of reasons, i scan them on a document scanner to OCR and make them greppable but i also have references to handwriten notes in obsidian. i also have handwritten notes entirely digital from an iPad Pro or my #Boox ereader/notebook.

i saw some headlines about an angry mob all wound up about something #Ledger added called #LedgerRecover so i finally updated my #Boox library and plugged in my Ledger Nano X (it's a hardware #cryptocurrency vault where my make believe internet money lives) and was offered an upgrade to firmware that mentions Ledger Live so now i have to actually sort out what all the insanity is about but it'll have to wait until after I scream at ServiceNow for about 80 minutes.

@geffrey @esinclai same as before, it'll launch and start getting New Stuff™ coming in and rudely dumps me to the apps screen.
are you using any "optimizations" in the context menu? my experience with android is the #boox #noteAir2 and one of my drones has a remote that runs #Android (#dji #mini3pro)
#Boox #NoteAir2 #android #dji #mini3pro
based on my most recently surfaced books in my #Boox or iPad i could really read the hell out of a book like "#Decluttering Your World with #Psychedelics, #AI, #PKM, #threatModeling, and #Privacy and Love Your #Productivity Journey" by Harvard Business Review
#Boox #decluttering #psychedelics #ai #PKM #threatmodeling #privacy #productivity
as amazing as #ReadwiseReader is, i think the android app needs work. (degree of difficulty: running on my #boox #noteAir2 digital notebook/ereader. i love it, but it is the only non-drone-related device in my house running android.

my employer's DLP and endpoint software has very strong opinions about my attempt to use `borg` to backup my #boox ereader/notebook and now that i've ctrl-c'ed finally starting to settle down but haven't seen a load avg plummet like this on a workstation lol:
readwise showing me the two dozen books i am halfway through is very on-brand for me.
the apple books part works great, i think ? i don't think it os collecting all my notes because books that haven't been touched lately can fade into icloud without realizing it.
i am still figuring out how my #boox #noteAir2 device can get in on that. it runs #android but i don't know much about android yet!
(i was #series60 #series40 #uiq and #series40 and #blackberry user before the iPhone 3GS.)

@jnavarra this is pretty great. i will totally open in pages and export to epub and have calibre generate a ToC. if it goes well do you want to hear about it?
i mean it would be snapshot from the day i save-as and occasionally need updates but i want it on my #boox so i can annotate!
@svw @emacsen I think the #reMarkable has only advantages if you really want the reduced featureset.
For getting the maximum out of this technology, I'd recommend devices by #Boox. This way, you get much more OOTB features and the full flexibility of a modern Android OS. #eink
@adamshostack i bought from Kobo store, opened with Adobe Digital Editions, and then did my thing to crank out an .epub file that is readable on everything i own that can read an ebook.
i do most of my reading on a #Boox Note Air 2 ereader/digital notebook, or on an iPad Pro. i travel a lot and if i had to lug all the books i'm currently reading everywhere with me i would probably not read very much at all.
i do own an older eink Kobo ereader but it's old and slow AF compared to modern eink.
I really tried to like the #onyx #boox. The boox was full of promises of things that it could do because of Android but didn't do without a lot of tinkering and workarounds. The built-in apps worked very well for writing and annotation, but were locked in to the boox menu system and difficult to combine with having all my pdfs in #zotero or on a storage service.
@ellane > making planners for fun
i recently gave those linked PDF planners a try, but i haven't made up my mind yet. i have a wide variety of hardware but i kind of think my #boox eink notebook/ereader would be great for this but i don't like that i have to put the PDF planner file i'm working with in my books library. i haven't spent much time trying out Goodnotes on my macs and iPad yet. is that the sort of planners you're talking about?
hello i am working on an index for owners of #onyx #boox devices called awesome-boox and it's on GitHub: https://github.com/emory/awesome-boox
#ereader #digitalNotebooks #eink #epaper #awesome ? a little uncomfortable with awesome until it's eventually awesome?

Doing it right this time with an #introduction!
You can guess from the name, but I'm an avid #Argentine #tango dancer in the SF / Bay Area.
I host a calendar for local events at https://cabeceo.me
I also really enjoy gadgets and toys. Particularly #e-ink devices. I use my #boox Note Air almost every day.
I'm also currently into #retro game handhelds and already have way too many of them. #aynodin #miyoomini

it's been about a month and i am still really enjoying the #Boox #NoteAir2, an #eInk device for reading and note taking. i definitely recommend getting a nice EMR stylus for these devices - i have the Lamy and the Noris digital jumbo is fantastic - the eraser even works! https://www.staedtler.com/intl/en/discover/noris-digital-jumbo-tradition-meets-innovation/
@256 in 1995 i bought myself a MP0 with graduation money. i still use newton sounds as alert tones on my workstations 😂 i have a MP130 somewhere still.
funny thing is that in 2022 i carry a monochrome tablet for notes everywhere i go still. (#Boox #NoteAir2 eink ereader/notebook)
Users of devices by #Boox #eink devices like #NoteAir: the latest upgrade to Firmware v3.2 introduced #SVG format to the internals of exported notes (as PDF).
So you can actually draw scalable drawings on your tablet which you can open and re-use in #Inkscape as vector graphics.
I drew the new #orgdown logo that way: https://gitlab.com/publicvoit/orgdown/-/blob/master/doc/faq/name-logo.org
