I check prices on certain #stocks from the command line using the ⁦‪#YahooFinance API. Yesterday afternoon this began failing with "Invalid Cookie" responses.

Looking for alternatives, a quick search turned up the https://api.tiingo.com/ data provider. The #RestAPI is easy to use and within a few hours I had my #Boron quote script updated to support Tiingo.

I have neglected posting to the #Boron mailing list about the yearly releases. Future releases will be announced there.

Development snapshots of static binaries (2.0.9-DR) are now available on the project homepage (https://urlan.sourceforge.net/boron/).

Over the last month the evaluator was rewritten to support coroutines which can yield. While the snapshots do not yet implement yield and resume capability there have been some important bug fixes (such as sending data through a thread port!).

A technique for easily modifying #quinolines with #carbon, #boron, and #silicon groups simultaneously has been unveiled by #scientists at Tokyo Tech. With #organoboron and #organosilicon compounds becoming more and more important in #pharmaceuticals, the novel technique could facilitate the development of new drugs

The #Evolvotron project has a single Python 2 script used to generate documentation. Fedora no longer provides version 2 by default, so I rewrote it in #Boron (a #Rebol inspired language) as I'm already using that to build the binary.

The new script is a bit smaller (and cleaner without all the "self" nonsense), but runs 100x faster and uses 10x less memory than Python 2.
