A #boundary is drawing a line _around you_ and it gives others a choice.

It is saying "I cannot be here if you continue this behavior."

It is not "you need to do this"

"I have a boundary that I only will be sexually intimate with you if you use a condom with all of your partners"

Now, boundaries can be overly rigid. They can be overly permissive. They can be reasonable or unreasonable. But that is quantitatively and qualitatively different from

"I am expressing a boundary that you must…"

I had a metamour and roommate for a while who would use the language of boundaries in an abusive manner and I became very attuned to when it was happening.

It was "I am setting a #boundary that you," never "I am setting a boundary for me."

It's part of the phenomena of the weaponization of social justice and psychology language by abusers. Nothing new there, it's just an application of it to the language of boundaries.

#Anger is a tool. Anger gives you energy. I've heard it said that Anger is a natural response to a #boundary being violated.

But. Anger only works that way when it drives action. _Stagnant_ anger festers.

Action is important. It isn't enough to be a hobbyist or to participate in the pretty sanctioned parades and then rage in helplessness at the news. We cannot succeed by saying "that person over there should do something," nor "nothing I can do."

It starts with what you do with your anger.

Since I have a huge number of unplayed games, common sense would dictate that I don't add any more to the pile.

Sadly, it appears that I am lacking in the "common sense" department. A few days ago I caught a couple of minutes of a gameplay video of Boundary.

Boundary is a 6DOF multiplayer space-based tactical shooter. It looked like a lot of fun. It's in early access on Steam, so I added it to my wishlist.

Then Fanatical sent me an alert yesterday to advise me that it was on special for 10% off, and I had an outstanding 5% discount voucher, and FOMO minutes later, I was the proud owner of a copy of Boundary.

I played it today, and I'd love to say I was not disappointed. Unfortunately, I cannot say that.

There's very little in the way of laying out what each piece of kit does.

In-game found myself getting railed from across the other side of a space station one too many times (which is nowhere near as fun as it sounds).

It's got potential. When it's fun, it's really fun. It's just that it's mostly full of bots; when it's not, if your team is losing, there are no penalties to other players quitting out, so they do.

I don't regret buying Boundary... yet. It's:
