@tofugolem @Seitansbraten @NicoNucu @joe8Zeta7 OK what I don't understand here is the inability to connect the dots between environmental destruction, wild animal extinction and buying into the meat and palm oil industry as a consumer. According to this data from Our World in Data the relationship is clear. It's good to be suspicious of motivations but I hope now you fully understand the motivations behind the #Boycottmeat #Boycottpalmoil #Boycott4Wildlife

@Seitansbraten @NicoNucu @tofugolem @joe8Zeta7 You can split hairs over #veganism definitions forever. I will again cite the research from earlier in this thread. 60% of #global #deforestation occurs for three commodities - #palmoil, #soy and #meat. So stopping consuming #meat #palmoil is going to help stop wildlife extinction. Most soy and palm oil is fed to meat and dairy animals. Eliminating meat and palm oil = real impact on animal extinction. #Boycottpalmoil #Boycottmeat #Boycott4Wildlife

@tofugolem @joe8Zeta7 It is true that many other commodities are causing #wildlife #extinction. We are talking about the most species-dense ecosystems in the world here tropical rainforests. 60% of tropical deforestation is from #palmoil, #soy #meat. This finding is key as it empowers consumers to boycott specific commodities in their supermarket shop. #Boycottmeat #Boycottpalmoil #Boycott4Wildlife read more https://ourworldindata.org/drivers-of-deforestation#beef-soy-and-palm-oil-are-responsible-for-60-of-tropical-deforestation

Birds like the Spix #Macaw are now #extinct in the wild due to #palmoil #meat and #soy deforestation in the Brazilian #Amazon. Fight back against extinction with your wallet, every time you shop #Boycottmeat #Boycottpalmoil #Boycott4Wildlife.

@AshleighLoeb Ashleigh this is so refreshing to hear. This idea that people are personally responsible for the climate crisis really enrages me too. Although I would say that if all caring, vegan (or otherwise) people decide to boycott particular global brands, particularly destructive commodities like palm oil, meat and dairy then global brands take notice and they shift accordingly. That's how change happens, but the neoliberal guilt thing is BS #Boycottpalmoil #Boycottmeat #Boycott4Wildlife
