That was our season, in #BrianJNelson pics. Last one here is another from Barber, #Alabama.
Owning and operating a #MotorcycleRacing team is not an easy way to live, but my husband is a really talented bike builder and crew chief, and I love the sport, so despite its ups and downs, it's what we do. We're already building our 2023 program -- when I finish this toot it's back to work.

Last: Barber Motorsports Park in #Alabama. (Barber is a national treasure: if you ever get a chance to go, GO.) Having blown our season budget (& then some) by round 3, we weren't able to travel with our team, so Chris & I crewed just the two of us, w/ help from a couple of friends of the team for rider wrangling and our full grid starts. I usually handle comms and sponsor obligations: being hands on the bike was HARD & rewarding.

For the rest of the midseason, with EZ crewing for his regular team and Sean still sidelined with recovery, we worked with other teams (and I even stayed home for a couple of rounds). We rejoined the series with our program and EZ back on the bike for the #NewJersey round.

That gave us time to rebuild our bike for the third time. Next was our home round at the Ridge in Shelton, #Washington -- just a short drive from #Seattle. On short notice, with Sean not yet fit to ride, our friend Eziah Davis joined the team as a rider substitution after a single day of testing with us.
We had a hard, awesome round at the Ridge. EZ earned the team a P11 finish in Stock 1000 race 1, then our team's best finish to date: P8 in race 2.

Breaking the thread to get out of the CW:
Next, #Virginia International Raceway. Before we'd even left Atlanta, we put down a deposit on a new 2022 #YamahaR1 since buying a donor bike was the fastest way to procure the spares we'd need to get a bike back on track.
Short version of a very long story: we rebuilt the bike in about two weeks. Then Sean had a two-bike crash at VIR that resulted in a broken bike, and a broken ankle.

Next up: #Atlanta. Sean experienced a single-bike incident in Free Practice -- in the turn Brain J was camped out in -- so we got an amazing eight-photo sequence of the slow-mo of our first potentially season-ending incident of the season. Sean was uninjured, and we put in a huge repair effort with help on spares from our #MotoAmerica paddockmates, but couldn't get the bike back on track that weekend.

We started our first season running #Stock1000 (our stock liter bike class) with a #superbike round at #COTA in #Texas. Sean Thomas from Longmont CO piloted our #Yamaha #YamahaR1 machine for the early season.
BTS: We were pitted across from Danillo Petrucci (he and several members of their team were quite kind — his truck driver, Levi, became one of my favorite crew folks to chat with last season). I got starstruck when Suzi Perry showed up to interview Petrucci.

Working on our 2022 to 2023 season change-over today & decided to sit down to re-review our pro photography from last season.
For funzies, I’m going to share one pic per round — all 📸 by the incredibly talented #BrianJNelson — official photographer for #MotoAmerica.
I co-own (with my spouse, Chris) a U.S. national motorcycle #RoadRacing team. I’ve ridden motorcycles for 20+ years and been a race fan since the 2012 #MotoGP season.
