I really didn't have one thing stick out for me today. That's not bad. In fact it's good. Because even though there wasn't one thing that stood out, it still was a pretty good day. So, I guess my #BrightSpot today was just today.

My #BrightSpot today is self care. I finished work at a reasonable hour today and then did two of my favorite self care actions. I did the dishes and I cooked dinner. The dinner was quite good too. I call it deconstructed pot stickers. I basically took a diabetic friendly pot stickers recipe and instead of stuffing cabbage leaves, mixed in cut up cabbage. It was quite good. Sometimes you need to have a relaxing evening to recharge.

Things happen that are out of our control. That is the way the universe works. But it doesn't diminish all the good things the universe sends our way. So my #BrightSpot today is my emotional growth and maturity of not letting little things upend my whole mood and cause me to miss out on the good things I have and am grateful for.

What a great day! We had beautiful weather, I ate some great food. But my #BrightSpot today was seeing the new Totally Free Clothes Store in their new location. It made me feel both humble and proud. I am more proud of that store than anything I've ever done, other than raising my daughter. I always have as my goal to leave any place I've been better than it was when I came and I can say without a doubt that I have accomplished this in Shelby, NC. I am so grateful for so much in my life.

My Southwest Flight has a layover in Vegas. I mused to @SelfDrivingCarp what a Monday AM flight to Vegas would look like. In the terminal there was a 60-ish Asian man face-timing with a friend brimming with joy and excitedly(and soberly) proclaiming “Vegas Baby!” He and his wife are sitting next to me and quite excited for some Slot Time. #lustforlife #BrightSpot #travel #traveling
