5. A personal change you felt in your games in the passing year

Those last few years, I mainly play one-shots. Got some bad experiences with campaigns that fell short, where expectations were not the same, where scheduling was difficult.
I've got tired of this, and didn't want to get stress about this.

Then, I ran a #BrindlewoodBay campaign. Because I wanted to try it. I found the perfect group. It ran smoothly. Always a pleasure to meet.
So, I'm back to play campaigns.

I rarely blog in english, but I did for this one.
It's my journey in The Gauntlet community, the great stuff I found there (and there is a lot), and it's just a big TY to Jason Cordova for building this space I have a great time being a part of.

2. A cool mechanic and how it manifested in play

Letting the players set details about a location is brilliant. It puts me on creative edge, it forces me to jump back on their idea, and often it offers characters development.

Interesting. #SomethingTookish was #BrindlewoodBay meets #UnderHillByWater, but Pasiones is likely leaning more into the self-aware trashy TV element of the show. Interesting idea!

I have a copy of Beach Patrol, which is built on TinyD6 that has a light rules appendium for Beach Patrol Nights, but I'd rather use something narrative whenever possible when I run for the playgroup.

I've thought about writing a Baywatch Nights hack before. That show is totally bonkers. Do you still have the notes and moves for Brindlewood Baywatch? Do you have plans to release it?

I helped @gordsellar playtest #SomethingTookish, which is now available on #Itch. It is a cozy Hobbit mystery game that never leaves your neighborhood of The Shire. Low stakes mystery with clever Hobbit themed moves. Loved playing it whenever we got the chance.

There is a mechanic to help your fellow Hobbits by singing a song! It's so much fun!

J'ai fait ma première partie de #BrindlewoodBay hier soir, mais j'étais beaucoup trop HS hier pour vous en parler. J'ai trouvé le scénario très sympa, le système simple et immersif, mais je suis encore un peu mitigé sur le système de résolution de l'enquête, c'est un poil trop méta à mon goût. En gros on choisit les indices qui nous plaisent, on les convertit en preuve accablantes qui accusent un des suspects et ensuite on a le droit à une scène de résolution à la Columbo

This has been a rough day… for my gaming budget!

#Dolmenwood and #ShadowOfTheWeirdWizard have both been backed. I had to negotiate this with my wife who astutely noted that supporting real artists like this is probably one of the best ways I could spend my hobby money!

(She only plays #BrindlewoodBay when it comes to #ttrpg, so I feel lucky she supports my love of the art form.)

Mein durch jahrelangen Anime-Konsum geschädigtes Gehirn denkt aber trotzdem als erstes daran, wie man das System missbrauchen könnte, um ein Danganronpa Spiel zu leiten. :rm_nerd:

This year these 6-sided dice are my favorites. I used them at "Tales from the Loop" and "Brindlewood Bay". And they roll well. 😊
The great thing about them is not just the color, but that they glow in the dark. 🤩😁

This year I've only played 3 characters so far (not counting OneShots):
- a 14-year-old girl in a foreign country in the 1980s
- an elderly crazy colorful woman who enjoys crime solving
- a young gnome in a grimdark world that the other PCs wonder where she keeps getting so much money from

The latter is my favorite character at the moment.
