Sharing some of my Instagram posts (also @BritishSouthAsiansInFilm): A Private Enterprise (Dir. Peter Smith, 1974). Considered the earliest example of a British South Asian film, it’s regarded as the first feature to spotlight British South Asian immigrant life. Unsurprisingly I’m finding it difficult to ethically/morally remain a Twitter user so I’m giving Mastadon a try. For those new to why British South Asians in Film was created it is a self initiated ongoing project. It celebrates and documents British South Asian narratives and protagonists in fictional and biographical feature films. In “The film list” you’ll find feature films dating back to the 70s and for shorts, documentaries, TV movies, etc. see, “For your consideration”. Happy film watching/discovering: https://www.britishsouthasiansinfilm.co.uk/the-film-list 🎞🎥🍿 #BritishSouthAsian #representationmatters #SouthAsiandiaspora
