The long-anticipated event on Ice Shelf finally occurred last week:
-1#SAR image animation of , , showing the calving of -81. The size of the iceberg is approximately 1700 km² or roughly equal to the area of Greater London. Combined with the calving of iceberg -74 in February 2021, the ice shelf lost 3000 km² in surface area, more than the country of Luxembourg.
