Hi #beekeepers especially any in #Scotland. I came across a hive of wild bees in the Isle of #Bute. These were very dark, almost black. I have a vague memory that black bees are the native strain & quite rare. Is this right? My picture is not great but the best I could do. #apiary #apiarist

Whilst hugely in awe of the ability of #housemartins to fly from #Africa to #Scotland & back, I am even more impressed that they always know where their nest is when they have built it on one of the #Bute ferries. Are we in #Colintraive, #Rhubodach or somewhere in-between?

#Vorfreude! Das #Zitronenbäumchen ist seit Wochen ausdauernd und hat dabei noch viel vor.
#Zitronenbaum blüht scheinbar von innen nach außen. Und duftet #himmlisch.
Dabei bin ich mit ihm ziemlich ruppig umgegangen.
Neulich vergessen stand er noch bei 0°C aufm #Balkon und dann die Nacht wieder bei Zimmertemperatur drinnen.

Forogtten Heritage.
These are part of my forgotten heritage project and taken at old Tiger Bay, Cardiff. With the need to move on, we slowly forget our past. The last 2 images are of The Coal Exchange. A building that's been saved by now being transformed into a hotel. It's worth noting, it's within this great hall that the world's first million point cheque was signed, here in Cardiff!

These images show how certain elements of Tiger Bay are still there, either as stood the test of time and current, or left when the area undertook its gentrification as a shallow layer of authenticity for tourists to appreciate.

The surprisingly extensive ruins of St Blane's Church near the southern end of the Isle of Bute. The church fell into disuse after the Reformation and most of the remains of the nave and the chancel you see today date back to the 1100s.
