The Big Freeze of Winter 1962/63 - one of the coldest winters on record in the UK ... and my dad took mum and me over the hills of Derbyshire to visit friends on our motorbike and sidecar - we were very hardy in those days 😄🥶❄ Dad took photos along the way and here am I aged about 3 years frozen to the signpost for Charlesworth, Chapel en le Frith and Buxton 😄

It is an 8.5 mile traffic free route from Blackwell Mill near Buxton to Bakewell following a section of the former Midland Railway's London to Manchester route.
