Oh, thanks #Google you've updated a service called 'Device Health Services', which you tell me doesn't actually work on #Bytestar (my tablet), so yet another useless system app that I can't fucking remove!:*
I've now got it disabled.
In case you're wondering, it only does anything on my phone (#LuciferMorningstar), and even then it's hardly of any importance.

So, I'm considering getting rid of the #BBCNews app on #ByteStar might even remove it from #LuciferMorningstar
Anyone any thoughts on alternative news apps for someone in the UK. Reuters news app any good?:*

@Bernardamus I use #Tusky on this tablet, (#ByteStar) and #Megalodon on my phone (#LuciferMorningstar). I've used #Fedilab in the past, on both.
Up to you, if you like the way the official app looks, go for Megalodon, as it'll be familiar (it's a fork with added features). If you like the looks of Tusky, go for that.
They are both good apps.

#Bytestar is live streaming #VirginOrbit while on charge, and I've got connected Bluetooth cans on while posting on #LuciferMorningstar
In case anyone wondered (;*

And finally today, the #GooglePlayServices update has actually landed, so I don't have a silly warning in the security settings section of #Bytestar #Android13 #Samsung

I'm playing an RPG / Gacha game on #Bytestar The game has guilds, so I joined one. Then last week the game decided that since the guild's leader hadn't been very active that there should be a new one.
Guess who got drafted?:*
Yes, the game decided I was perfect material for leadership even though I have no clue as to what I'm doing!:*
How wonderful.
So, after many years I've decided to go back to #Tusky at least on #Bytestar Meanwhile #OldFedilab will stay on #LuciferMorningstar
I'll admit there are things I like about OldFedilab when compared to the current Tusky, but unfortunately #NewFedilab seems to have broken a few of them, and since the Old version will never be updated whereas Tusky will continue to be I guess it's time to move on.

@ButterflyOfFire
Of my three devices:
#DeepThought has had the app uninstalled.
#LuciferMorningstar has notifications from it switched off.
#Bytestar is still fully boop-capable.
Seemed the sensible option since I still want to know when I have a notification, just not from all three devices simultaneously, multiple times for the same event.

So I use personalDNS on both #Bytestar and #LuciferMorningstar and it's quite amazing to see, now I have them blocked, just how often each device tries to report their location to Google (viaβuserl*cation.go*gleapis.com) and also how often the phone wants to send stuff for analysis (via ssl.go*gle-analytics.com), which I also block.
News: I've gone back to #OldFedilab 2.39 on #Bytestar, since the home timeline in #NewFedilab decided randomly to stop updating despite my force closing, clearing cache and so forth.
Got to be said, I still prefer OldFedilab, in spite of New Fedilab's recent 'improvements'.

Interesting day, #ByteStar got a system update.
Quite impressive, considering when I bought it it was marketed as having Android 10, got an update when I first turned it on, which took it to Android 11, and now after this update, it's running 12.
Meanwhile, in the real world, we currently have an Elena visiting (:*
