I dimly recall a while back, must be at least five years, probably more, there was a fuss about someone who withdrew a publication because it was based on ethically problematic historical data reuse. Something like ships logs, or ice shelf measurements, but honestly I can't remember the specifics - hence this plea. Lasting gratitude to anyone who can point me towards this episode.
