Storms such as the ones headed for California remind me of the [squandered] value of Twitter as a vital information resource during emergencies. Many meteorologists remain on Twitter, and some are cross-posting on Mastodon and Post, which is encouraging. But I'm concerned about Twitter's infrastructure, and especially concerned about its ability to provide timely, quality / authoritative information regarding the events of the 2023 fire season. #cawx #cafire #cawater
