#CBCRadio has been mentioning the local fires here in Québec, but now only on the local newscast. Regarding the media, "The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on".

@chad Are the Alberta forest fires mostly gone then, at least for now? I don't think I've heard about them on #CBCRadio for a while.

@jfmezei It seems as if many Americans expect Mr. Trump's supporters to rise in a violent insurrection. On #CBCRadio this morning for instance, they had a guest who was explaining how a Republican congressman had told people to get their guns and seize chokepoints. The US government is preparing itself for this possibility.

I think an insurrection is very unlikely, but the heated rhetoric does provides an excuse for individual mad-men to shoot someone.

@chad @Azih On #CBCRadio #TheCurrent this morning, they claim that the #UCP won many ridings with very narrow pluralities ("1300 votes would have made the difference") but that they beat the NDP in popular vote by a much larger margin. #ProportionalRepresentation might not have given the result you desire.

You should also consider what the results would have been with #PreferentialVoting .

Going to start putting together links to some fantastic radio shows on #CBCRadio.

If #PublicRadioCanada needs to startup in a hurry in 2026 then do not assume that anyone would have access to any of the older CBC shows.

If PP+Cons want to be sinister about crushing the #CBC then they might not let anyone use the CBC name.

It might take some time to put together some Canadian shows for a regular schedule - might need to use shows from around the world during startup.

I suppose it would be fair for me to express my own opinion of the #CBC . In brief, it should be radically reformed to suit the modern media environment.

English CBC should stop thinking of itself primarily as a TV network in competition with CTV and NBC, and instead focus on streaming, with a speciality in news and reruns of quality Canadian productions. Stop spending money to fill airtime with expensive new shows Canadians aren't watching.

First, not really answering your question, but I strongly advise listening to #CBCRadio . Global, national and local news, intelligent shows, shows about Canada for Canadians.

For TV shows, are you thinking of documentaries to learn about Canada, or entertainment that gives off a Canadian vibe? What sort of show do you enjoy watching?

Last week there was an item in the news about the #Catholic #Church "repudiating the so-called 'Doctrine of Discovery'", as #CBCRadio put it. My understanding is in line with what Fr #RaymondJdeSouza writes in the article, that the Church never taught such principle as doctrine.

@nealjennings I heard Kennedy Stewart, the old mayor of Vancouver interviewed on #CBCRadio . He thought there probably was PRC interference against him, but that Mr. Sim won by such a large margin that the interference probably made no difference in the result.

#CBCRadio this morning tells me that the report on the #FreedomConvoy2022 will be issued next week.

My prediction: The report will indicate that the invocation of the #EmergenciesAct was unnecessary in the circumstances.

I make that prediction with 80% confidence, based upon what I learned from reporting at the inquiry.

I'll post if I'm wrong. Does anyone else a prediction?

I wrote the above a few days ago, but I think it's important to add that, largely because of the delays in the official #HealthCare system, Canada already does have an unofficial second tier. People who can afford it fly to the US, Mexico, or elsewhere to get faster treatment.

On Wednesday, on the #CBCRadio news, they spoke to a BCer who had flown out-of-province to receive knee surgery quickly; he went to Québec. "I didn't jump the queue," he said, "I removed myself from the queue."
