Initial thoughts on the #CBJ schedule:

That's about as favorable a start as you can have. Before American Thanksgiving, only 4 opponents finished top 10 last year, 4 more were top half. The other 12 games are against bottom half teams last year (10 against 24th or worse).

Have to rack up points.

To have any hope to stay in a playoff race, they probably need like 30 points by then.

Then it gets real quick. Between Thanksgiving and January 2nd, the #CBJ have 10 games (out of 19) against top 5 teams last year. (Three against Boston.)

We'll know who the Jackets are by January 3rd, at latest.

June 24th: John Tortorella is born in #Boston, #Massachusetts. Firey and sometimes controversial, #Torts has coached #hockey in the #ECHL, #AHL, and #NHL, most recently with #Columbus and #Philadelphia.

If the #CBJ fail to get 2 points tonight against the #NJDevils OR if the #Habs manage to get 1 point against the #Caps tonight, the Jackets can finish at best 29th overall, and they will pick no worse than 6th in the draft.

- With a loss, they draft no worse than 8th.
- A loss combined with any points earned by the #Habs , they can draft no worse than 7th.
- And, a loss combined with a #sjsharks win would put San Jose up 5 with 5 games left, likely putting them out of reach.

- #LGRW beat #LetsGoPens in any fashion, and,
- the Blue Jackets lose in any fashion to #NYR tonight...

they can "improve" their worst draft position all the way to 9th.
