I don’t watch much TV or radio news output at all any more, but I do listen to a lot of #6Music, stuff on #BBC Sounds and what my kids watch on #CBBC and #CBeebies. And #DoctorWho, obviously.

Whilst it is obviously not going to dismantle capitalism, the stuff I see is Woke As Fuck. It’s very respectful and encouraging to all cultures and to LGBT+ and neurodiverse children and adults.

The right wing and billionaire press hate the BBC and attack it constantly for a reason. It should be defended.

This week's Week reviews #GetSetGalactic, a #Cbeebies science show.

Lots to educate, both in the specific topics and in the general scientific method. There's slight exposure to famous scientists, and a setting that's literally out of the world.

While I love the #BBC's output for younger children on #CBeebies and #CBBC they really drop the ball for the older kids. Netflix is making some great TV that's hitting that sweet spot that keeps teens engaged

As a change from my usual rants about politics, I thought I'd share an article which made me beam.

It's been great to follow the career so far of George from #CBeebies and #Strictly. Along with Tommy Jessop, Leon Harrop and Sarah Gordy, he's proof that #Downs doesn't have to hold you back. More visibility for #disabled people makes a huge difference, especially for children: #representation matters, and helps to counter discrimination and pity.

Having #covid is weird. Part of me keeps thinking it's just a really heavy cold. Then I do something strenuous like have a shower, or spend an hour in charge of a toddler (with snacks and #CBeebies) and I'm absolutely wiped and have been sent back upstairs to bed. 😴
