Nowcast - the XBB.1.5 strain of SARS-Cov2 virus is not only spreading alarmingly fast, it is rapidly becoming the dominant variant of the Omicron strain.

In this Nowcast picture (updated every Friday) from the CDC site, you can see that the strain (in dark blue) is negligible in Traveler-based Genomic Surveillance data on 12/3/22. But just 4 weeks later, on 12/31/22, it is 40.5% of all tests on that sub-population.
