This return-to-office call in the name of collaboration and corporate culture is utter bullshit at ALL levels and here's the reason why.

In the rank & file, the trenches, no one has the luxury of time to care about culture. Most are living day-to-day and have life concerns that absolutely dwarf office petty drama and stupid politics.

Corporate culture doesn't exist until someone makes it up and sticks it in a slide deck. (The one viable positive is that building said culture gives those in Marketing and HR something to do to fill their day.)

For the rest of us, our culture is meeting impossible requirements set by a flailing middle manager.

Oh, and stopping and interfering with the real work to attend countless indoctrination meetings about building and learning to "appreciate our culture".

Which all could have been accomplished (with higher receptivity) in a Zoom meeting.
