It's appalling that this seems the norm now even in medical settings. Given the fact that few people are even bothering to test now, (last week in the UK testing was down 28% on the previous 7 days) it's impossible to know the prevalence of Covid. For anyone who's #CEV it's terrifying.

Michael Gove has suggested cutting child benefit for parents whose children are frequently absent from school. Because making families poorer and children hungry is really going to help their education ... Yes, wearing a mask is an inconvenience, but a very minor one. Thank you for this thread - it's good to see so many kind and thoughtful people here.

This is infuriating. It seems releasing data on the R rate is “no longer necessary” as the UK is living with #Covid thanks to #vaccines and therapeutics. It seems the govt don't want the public to know the rate of infection. It's all too reminiscent of Trumps "stop testing and the numbers will go down."
