Now for something new. Our short article on #Snek5000 has started the review process on #JOSS.

The project is a #Python framework for #Nek5000, a well known #CFD solver. It was a collaboration over borders between @ashwinvis , Arman Khoubani and @PierreAugier.

Last week, I was at the #Coupled2023 conference in Chania, Crete, Greece. It’s amazing to see what people can do when it comes to #CFD #particle coupling or fluid structure interactions (#FSI). Also quite interesting the sessions on #preCICE , #openfoam and #opensouce

I think for him there was some issue reading an input file and push values to a boundary condition, but he explains it better in his video.

Last week I came across the codedFixedValue boundary condition in #openfoam. I basically want to pump gas into my system with some control parameters, e.g. amount of gas, bubble size distribution. codedFixedValue can do that, what surprised me however was how to use vectors. In an #openfoam dictonary the style is (0 0 0) for a 3D vector. Inside the codedFixedValue the style changes to vector(0,0,0) 🤔

#yesterday was my first time in Jylland. We organized a meeting with @Stiesdal a company with which have a joint #research project. It was a really pleasant #train trip and super helpful insights from their labs 😃.

How cool is snappyHexMesh for meshing a geometry using #openfoam! Special thanks to Konstantinos Missios who gave me a walk through this utility.
Having a satisfying geometry and a good mesh there is only more thing to do .... define a working boundary condition #CFD #VOF 😙

@Zamfr @ahafeezs it has a nice #ui with clean options. For my PhD I wrote my own LBM, so anything with an #ui is already quite nice. After two 20min #tutorials without any pervious #cad use I could make my #cfd domain. Super intuitive to use, also I only use #foss software for work 😉

@ahafeezs @FreeCAD Still learning a lot, actually I have no clue what most of the icons do 😅, but I can find my way around with the sketcher and part design.
