@vmstan I scored 28 on my sleep study and am new to #CPAP 's, located in the Seattle area, and my clinic referred me to Performance Home Medical. Are there other equipment providers you/anyone might recommend?

I made it to a year on #CPAP. When I started, I was severely sleep deprived, had terrible joint pain, and was constantly catching infections. Nearly 50% of people give up by this point, so I'm glad I was able to take to it quickly. It took me three years to get diagnosed, so I'm still not fully recovered. I ended up feeling worse after starting TRT due to it causing a spike in my estrogen levels, so I'll need to wait some time for that to go back to normal.

After 11 years of *not* using a humidifier on my #cpap machine(s), I decided to try it out on my new Airsense 11 last night as I’ve developed dry mouth the last few weeks and I’m using nasal pillows.

And O.M.G. I’ve been missing out. Now I’m contemplating getting a heated hose.

Our gas oven died so we've been relying on a countertop microwave/convection oven which is showing its age.  We had planned to wait to replace but we placed an order since cooking is key

For Xmas, my wife got me a lovely garmin smartwatch. It's got a pulse ox function, which in theory will let me look at my overnight o2 and HR readings. It also tells me when I get a text.

It's a nice replacement for my poor pebble that died several years back.

Gotta hand it to the makers of the Philips DreamStation cpap machine for having limitless resources and a massive budget and still recreating the single biggest design flaw in the human body: that the "water has to go in here" hole is right next to the "water here will destroy the machine" hole. Absolutely iconic. Legendary. Dare I say...divinely inspired?

Anyway hmu if you know how to get water out of a #cpap instead of paying $1700 for a new one thx!

I *think* it may be the chances of increased condensation developing in your mask.

I’m not certain if a heated hose or humidifier reduces that chance (as I don’t use either) but I have noticed when my bedroom temps falls below 16C/60F I’ve got more moisture in my nose pillows than warmer nights. #cpap #sleepapnea

Ahhh yup. I absolutely enjoy waking up at 3am when my #CPAP machine stops because the power is out due to the storm.

Had to plug in the battery backup so I can resume sleeping and not die from breathing obstructions.
