Finally, finally, FINALLY picking my way through 'The Pale Blue Eye' on Netflix. Middling reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but I don't care -- really loving the dim, monochromatic aesthetic, and anything 19th century gothic gets my full attention.

On the other hand, I'm giving up on 'Cabinet of Curiosities' largely because the episodes are way too gruesome for my taste. In some instances, the violence and gore feel gratuitous and really disappointing. I'd love to go back to old school horror where atmosphere reigns supreme.

Restraint is such a difficult thing to manage.

Slowly been making my way through Guillermo Del Toro's #CabinetofCuriosities. As a vivid dreamer, try to keep more of the creepy and scary away from when I sleep. Not all of the latter in this, but still be sure to put space between episodes I don't want in my dreams. Though holy crap, what a great cast in this from Kate Miccuci to Crispin Glover and now Peter Weller in Episode 7! Also love the directorial style here. #Netflix

Vraiment déçue par la série de Guillermo del Toro #CabinetofCuriosities . Je trouve les épisodes trop longs et pas vraiment intéressant. J'en suis au 6e épisode et pour l'instant le seul que j'ai vraiment aimé c'est The Autopsy (épisode 3).

J'ai fini tous les épisodes du Cabinet de curiosités de Del Toro avant-hier et je suis globalement mitigée, tendance très tiède, sauf pour le dernier, #Murmuring , réalisé par Jennifer Kent. J'aimerais qu'on me rende l'hydratation de mes yeux, merci. #CabinetOfCuriosities #Netflix

Just finished #CabinetOfCuriosities. It was amazing! The last episode features #AndrewLincoln for those who enjoy his work. Each story is self contained by the way.

Finished #CabinetOfCuriosities, it was just what the doctor ordered! And because I was itching for more it finally got me to start #BlackMirror. Love a good (horror) anthology series. :D

Episode 8, "The Murmuring" is excellent. The storyline is compelling and the actors consistently hit the right beats with the characters' emotion. The story sets up it's promises clearly and delivers on them

The episode is one of my favorites from the series, my other being "The Autopsy" (E03).
