The Retriever and I ventured to Rohnerville Airport for our walk this morning. Here's a couple planes resting until the fog lifts, and the helicopter getting some TLC from its crew.
Pretty grateful for these hardworking aircraft and their crews these days.

A was involved in a mid-air collision while battling a fire in Riverside County.

Siller Helitanker 37S and Helco Copter 5AS….

N555AS was operating as the Helicopter Coordinator (helco) on the fire.

N555AS was tracking 50 feet below N4037S when their icons merged.

It's just about grossly inefficient bureaucractic management.

There should be a union-unsettling flexible force to fight wildfires & minimize overtime here, & Floridians should tax themselves for fire protection, especially the affluent.

I know CAL FIRE wants to get this right, but sadly the FHSZ SRA maps are entering a 2nd round of public comment. Which to me means the LRA FHSZ maps won't be published until the end of 2023.

I recall a private company based in the mid-west buying up a bunch of old planes and parts for their tanker fleet. Many planes were under contract with Cal Fire. Can't find the exact company but this one looks similar.
