If you call Berkeley 311 and tell them the bike detector at Hillegass & Ashby (State Route 13) is not working, which has happened 16 times since it was installed in 2018, they most likely (12 times) will close it because the light is maintained by CalTrans, without telling CalTrans about the problem, nor telling you to call CalTrans. (Two times they did forward the report; once they fixed it themselves; and one case is still open.) #Berkeley #BikeTooter #CalTrans

This whole story makes me so sad and enraged. #Berkeley, #CalTrans, and #PGandE should all be held to account for their inaction, and make systemic changes to learn from it.
