Is #Caltrain safe? This video is from my commute just now. It is not as severe as it was between SF and Millbrae earlier, but nearly as bad. Would you be concerned?

There are serious safety problems on the #Caltrain which sways back and forth in some stretches. When passengers start looking at each other with concern it cannot be ignored. How far can the train sway exactly? Who do I contact about oversight?

I rode #Caltrain home from the city yesterday. The smell instantly put me back in time to when I was working with @benbrown. crazy how underutilized it is right now...used to be standing room only on the train and a packed station at 5pm.

Full train and only one bike car! But at least, unlike the bad old days of "bumps", #CalTrain staff were cool about it--"just squeeze in and work it out".

Bike car ppl are pretty good at working this stuff out.

#SFBART, #CalTrain, #Amtrak, #vta, #sfmuni, etc., all could do so much better at supporting #hardofhearing folk. the emphasis is on communicating via sound, to include #visuallyimpaired folx but the HoH facilities are at best poor--including the broken, unmaintained systems.

Improving #HoH accomodation would also benefit #actuallyautistic folx who must use hearing protection on trains, buses, & at stations.

#Caltrain had their first open house for the new electric trains today in San Jose. These will provide a faster, quieter, and cleaner ride vs. the current diesel trains in the West Bay, and are scheduled to start running late next year. Also met a few #blahaj fans!

there's something fitting about going to the #CaltrainEMU public tour to see the new shiny Stadler trains and then trying to take one of the old #Caltrain Nippon Sharyo sets home, only to have the poor locomotive break down one station after departure

"TRANSCRIPT OF INTERVIEW OF TEMPORARY FOREMAN--CRANE OPERATOR " has some pretty wild stuff in it. It sounds like there have been a LOT of close calls involving crews working on the wrong track that had not been properly cleared of trains with dispatch.

@lmc @karlthefog That's awesome. That is how it should be. The windows on the current #Caltrain are just too high. Simply cleaning the windows would likely boost ridership.
