CW direct action, mutual aid, unhousedness, actually heartwarming

Camp Resolution is a direct action project founded by #unhoused community members with support from local #activists to provide services the city of #Sacramento can't/won't to unhoused folx in a safe, non-concentration camp environment. The city challenged the project at first, but 50+ people went down to city hall with a petition of more than 400 signatures and we talked back. The city has changed its tune, and now instead of threats of #sweeps, we have lawyers negotiating on the camps behalf. The camp is safe enough that its starting to be able to give back. I'm so proud of this project and all the work and love the community has put into it. I hope you'll go check out pictures and video clips from the open mics (oh yeah, it's a cultural center too! In the wake of an all-out assault on encampments across #California, houseless deaths in #Sacramento county spiked to over 200. Supporters of #CampResolution, a self-organized community in #Sacramento, pushed city council to vote against a mass eviction tomorrow, however, decision to attack the camp remains in hands of city manager. In 2021, "A record 199 unhoused residents died in Sacramento County."
