As I got blocked from posting this on FB NC500 groups I thought I would post it here .If your doing rural driving its important to use passing places to let overs past or give way to others approaching.It lets you go as slow as you like and other people get where they need to on time.They shouldnt be parked in they are essential
(and to anyone in NC500 and camper van groups on FB maybe they need to get their priorities right )

I joined a couple of NC500 fb groups ,mostly because I am also in a couple that are campaigning to stop things like camper van wild camping and thought its better to educate than whine .I genuinely want to help folk who might not realise how remote here is ,eg ,that you cant drive around with your tank on reserve because theres a good chance your going to run out of fuel ,but I found two groups automatically block locals,not a great way to encourage local support

As tourist season approaches I hope everyone heading into rural or coastal areas will show respect for the location,for wildlife,livestock and locals .Please dont use roadside verges or laybys to relieve yourself or to park camper vans and remember its not "wild camping" if your next to a road or on a footpath.Many rural areas have council patrols moving on carvans and camper vans and you can more or less be certain of being named and shamed on social media .
