2 February: Feast of the Candlemas - The Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Presentation of Christ in the Temple.

An illumination used by the Carmelite Friars in London ca.1375 (from the Reconstructed Carmelite Missal now in the British Library)

Sherbrooke Missal (NLW MS 15536E), ca. 1310 - 1320

And, the mandatory snowdrops [Galanthus] previously aka Candelmas bells.

I used to wonder why some churches still had their crib on display well after everyone had taken theirs down at Epiphany.
Then I learned that historically they were removed after 'Candlemas' (today), the Feast of the infant Christ's Presentation in the Temple.
The Feast of the Presentation is often a subject for stained glass windows, like this one in St Peter's Church, Byers Green, Co Durham.

If Christmas night is 1st, then 12th is tonight!
According to English Heritage however
"Falling exactly 40 days after Christmas, Candlemas (or the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary) was observed as the official end of Christmas in medieval England."
So Christmas doesn't end until Candlemas, Feast, Thursday, 2 February
