Aw shucks, it seems like deploying from #SelfHosted #Git is only available on #Netlify's enterprise plan, somehow. That throws a minor wrench into moving away some of my repositories from GitHub.

I'll have to take a closer look at self-hosted Netlify-like alternatives. #AskMastodon #devops does anyone have any experience with #Dokku, #Coolify, #Meli, and #CapRover? Which do you prefer? Does it work with self-hosted Git, too? Please do share, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Anyone using CapRover (https://caprover.com/) ? I’m thinking of something simpler for me to manage my self-hosted apps instead of Kubernetes or similar directly.

Man, #Fedora server needs a lot more love for what it is. I just can't trust Ubuntu to not eventually crap the bed when playing with things. Yes, I do break it Ubuntu so it's my fault, but IMO, a good system doesn't let you do it. And while I'm not saying you can't break Fedora (trust me, you can), I just find it so much better in every way possible. #Fedora + #Caprover 4lyfe

I enjoy much of the built-in security practices #yunohost offers, but I'm willing to evaluate alternatives that offer some server hardening baked in and that simplify deployment.

Anybody using #caprover?

Fortunately #caprover supports deploy from inputting docker image name from web UI, but seems not supporting docker compose files.

Oh~ #OhMyForm suddenly failed to run when I was doing a second time exercise (was a success in first-time deployment), with many errors needed to debug. Seems #Caprover is using their latest version by default.

I know those errors might be of some trivial mistakes. But... what if my purpose is to empower the non-tech users to deploy such dockerized stuff with any touch of commands?

So that’s quite hard. 😏 a little frustrating.

Haha I just came out of an yet another small side project: dockerize and templating my #IPFS static website. Also thanks to #caprover , anyone can easily deploy their own ipfs site with just a couple of commands (installing caprover as a #nodejs module in their computer)!

Just installed #caprover on a vps, and deployed #ohmyform. All of these are just amazing🤩

Quite one-click-app except for a couple of commands: npm install and caprover serversetup — try to recommend non-tech savvy to deploy some services without many Linux skills. Hope they won’t be afraid.

Studying a bit for #heroku and #caprover (#PaaS). Hmmm they both require the users have some Linux #commandline skills. My expectation is to let my end user deploy my app with really one click on a web UI. ;)
