How Britain transformed from a colonial power into a global financial power. At the demise of empire, #City of #London financial interests created a #web of #offshore #secrecy_jurisdictions that #captured_wealth from across the #globe and hid it behind #obscure financial structures in a web of #offshore_islands.

You can count on one hand how many #British_Bankers have gone to #prison for #fraud. At the hands of #corrupt_bankers many hard-working people have #lost their #businesses, their #homes and their #savings. An Industry that has #decimated_lives still has had no recourse to stop the banks #ILLEGAL_ASSET_STRIPPING.
