@paulpeace As long as they are 'real' vegetables, a different variety perhaps, low carb potatoes seem to be a step forward. I have not seen them in the UK, but I shall look now. If they come as highly processed versions of say chips or mash, I would avoid. No point in achieving low carbs by highly processed methods, utilising chemicals.
I try to reduce #carbohydrates, not eliminate them. On the basis that banning foods leads to cravings. Some foods as treats maybe once a month.
@paulpeace As a #Diabetic I believe the government recommendations and some mainstream diet advice has not kept up with the research in the last few years. I have two simple rules I use.
Avoid processed foods : Examples include 'low fat', which is usually added water plus chemicals and 'reduced sugar' which usually means added chemical sweeteners, which mostly don't help diabetics.
Avoid or reduce #carbohydrates : Sweet things, desserts obviously, but including potatoes, cereals, bread.
@chunshek #Carbohydrates and I have developed a deep, meaningful relationship over the years.
