@rowenamonde How it works is a country like Zamunda promises to plant 10k trees and buy 10k electric cars by year 2050. The market says that’s 50k #CarbonCredits. Some company burns loads of fuel, and the market says if they buy all those credits for $10k, it will balance out their carbon footprint. Zamunda’s government gets a nice check up front, the company announces they are #CarbonNeutral, and by 2050 nobody will know if Zamunda followed through or if it made any difference.
