Half-arsed literary allusion time. I reckon Bunter and Carrie are going to end up like Lydia Bennet and Wickham - forced to take charity from a shrinking pool of "friends" and relatives, bouncing around from pillar to post, permantly on the make, bitter and shackled to each other.
I like the sound of that. It has the ring of poetic justice to it, don't you think?
