Finished season 2 of Hilda and the movie today. It was good, I liked the origin story of Trolberg and the trolls. I wish they got deeper into the relationship and conflict between Hilda and her mum, that was the main point of tension in the series and it never really got treated properly. I do feel that there could be another season's worth of material to get into but I'm happy enough with the story as is. #cartoons #animation

One thing I'm not a big fan of in the #Hilda cartoon is the lack of development among the main characters. Hilda gets grounded for sneaking out but continues to do so without remorse. Frida kind of loses her way for a few episodes but then returns to her original fastidious character. David experiences life without fear but goes back to being a coward without really learning anything. It would have been nice to see how the characters' experiences change them over time. #animation #cartoons

I just finished #Amphibia and the finale was so good 😭 What a touching story! Definitely one of the best Western #cartoons I've seen, I highly recommend it.

I started watching Amphibia because people said it was similar to #MLP and I do find it scratches some of the same itches. Good animation, good voice acting, good humor as well as a compelling story. I'm actually kinda surprised at how dark and dramatic it gets in season three. Marcy's storyline in particular is nuts.

There's just no substitute for MLP's long term character growth though...
